💰 What Are Royalties?
Royalties are the payments made to the rights owner (such as the artist, composer, producer, or label) whenever their music is played, streamed, downloaded, or monetized anywhere in the world.
Every time someone listens to your song on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or purchases it from iTunes or Amazon Music, a royalty is generated and credited to your account.
These royalties recognize your ownership and contribution to the song — it’s how you keep earning every time your music is used.
⚙️ How Do Royalties Work?
When you distribute your music through P Tune Studio, we deliver your tracks to global streaming platforms and digital stores.
Each time your track is streamed or sold, our system collects your revenue share directly from the DSPs (Digital Service Providers) and accounts it to you in your Backstage dashboard.
Your royalties are then processed and paid to you according to the terms of your Distribution Agreement:
- Royalty Reports: Published between the 1st and 5th of the second following month
(e.g. January’s income is reported between March 1 – 5). - Payments: Issued between the 15th and 20th of that same month.
- Minimum Payout Threshold: Payments are made once your balance reaches USD $50 or more.
- Revenue Split: You retain 70 % of Net Receipts, as per the current standard agreement.
- Payment Method: Direct bank transfer or other approved payment options.
This means you always get transparent, monthly accounting and fair, timely payments for every stream and download your music earns.
