What to Include When Sending a Copyright Complaint
To help the platform verify your claim quickly, include the following:
1. Your Information
- Full name
- Name of the individual/company that owns the work
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Link to the original song/asset or proof of ownership
2. Details of the Infringement
- Type of asset being infringed
(Sound recording, artwork, trademark, etc.) - Link to the infringing content
- Evidence showing the unauthorized usage
- A short explanation of how your rights were violated
3. Required Legal Statements
Include these two declarations exactly as written:
“I hereby state that I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
“I hereby state that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that I am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
These statements allow the platform to process your DMCA request legally.
