Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in deceptive advertisements from so-called “music promotion services” that promise a certain number of streams, followers, or playlist placements in exchange for money.
⚠️ Be careful — these offers may sound tempting, but most of them rely on artificial or fraudulent streaming methods that can seriously harm your music career.
❌ What Is Artificial Streaming?
Artificial streaming refers to any activity that manipulates or inflates play counts on digital platforms through automated systems or non-genuine means, such as:
- Using digital bots or “click farms”
- Paying for playlist placements or fake promotions
- Employing automated streaming tools or devices
- Engaging third-party “promotion” services that guarantee a specific number of plays or followers
These practices violate DSP policies (like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube) and directly breach your P Tune Studio Distribution Agreement, which strictly prohibits fake or manipulated streams.
⚖️ Consequences Under the P Tune Studio Agreement
Under Clause 11: Claims, Remedies & Indemnification, if artificial or fraudulent activity is detected:
- The affected releases will be immediately removed from all streaming platforms.
- Associated royalties may be withheld for up to six (6) months during investigation.
- Proven fraudulent royalties will be returned to DSPs and not payable to the artist.
- In severe or repeated cases, your entire catalog may be removed, and your account may be permanently suspended.
P Tune Studio takes this extremely seriously — as protecting the integrity of our catalog and partner relationships is essential to every artist’s success.
