While the majority of the tracks uploaded by P Tune Studio clients are approved within 2-3 working days, sometimes your music may be returned to you if we believe the music platforms will not approve it.
Why P Tune Studio Sometimes Returns a Release Before Distribution
(And How to Make Sure Your Music Gets Approved Fast)
Most songs uploaded by P Tune Studio artists get approved within 2–3 working days.
But every now and then, a release has to be returned — not because we want to slow you down, but because we know the major DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.) won’t approve it in its current form.
We do this to protect your music, your audience, and your artist reputation.
Why Would DSPs Reject My Release?
The number one reason DSPs reject or later remove a track is incorrect or inconsistent metadata.
If the details submitted don’t match what the platforms expect, the release could:
-
Get rejected instantly
-
Or get taken down weeks later
Either way, that means problems for your fans, playlists, algorithm growth, and artist credibility — and we don’t want that for you.
What Counts as Incorrect Metadata?
Metadata mistakes come in many forms, but these are the issues we see most often at P Tune Studio:
✔ 1. Artwork and Metadata Don’t Match
This is the most common issue.
If the artwork says “Falling Stars” but the metadata says “Falling Star”, DSPs will reject it.
Spelling, spacing, capitalization — everything must match exactly.
✔ 2. Missing or Incorrect Artist & Feature Credits
When you list a featured artist on the main release info,
you also must list them on the track-level info.
If the two sections don’t match, DSPs treat it as a metadata conflict.
✔ 3. General Inconsistencies
Any mismatch in artist names, titles, version tags, roles, or spellings can lead to a return.
Our Operations Team checks everything before we send it to streaming platforms — and if anything looks off, we’ll return the release so you can fix it.
How to Make Sure Your Release Gets Approved on the First Try
Once you submit your track, it goes straight to our Operations Team for a full review.
To get a smooth, fast approval:
🔑 Make sure:
-
All metadata is clean and accurate
-
Artwork perfectly matches the information
-
You have the required licenses (especially for remixes/covers)
-
Featured artists are properly credited
When these are correct, releases almost always pass approval with zero delays.
