How to Credit Artists & Contributors When Uploading Your Music to P Tune Studio
When you upload a release to the P Tune Studio Client Portal, you have full control over how your collaborators are credited. Correct metadata not only ensures accurate recognition — it also helps platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music display your release properly.
Inside your release form, you’ll find two main areas for crediting collaborators:
1. Release-Level Metadata
This is the “Other Key Artists” section.
Here, you can list any major collaborators who contributed to the overall release — for example, primary features or artists who appear across multiple tracks.

2. Track-Level Metadata
This is the “Other Artists and Contributors” section.
Use this area to credit collaborators on a track-by-track basis — producers, performers, remixers, engineers, and more.

If you’re ever unsure which role suits a contributor, the P Tune Studio team is always here to help. You can message your account manager or reach out to our live chat anytime.
Commonly Used Artist & Contributor Roles
Below are the most frequently selected artist and contributor labels available inside the P Tune Studio portal:
Primary Artist
The main artist(s) performing on the track or album.
This credit determines how your release appears on your Spotify profile and other DSPs.

Featuring Artist
A guest performer who appears on a specific track or the full release.
Featured artists appear under the “Appears On” section of Spotify profiles when properly credited.
Remixer
A creative contributor who transforms an existing track into a new sound recording.
Remixers also show up in the “Appears On” section of their Spotify profiles.

What Is the “Appears On” Section?
On Spotify, the “Appears On” tab groups together all releases where an artist contributed as:
- A featured artist
- A remixer
- A vocal feature
- A performer on compilations
You’ll appear here only if the original artist includes your name as a performer or remixer in the metadata.
Additional Contributor Roles
Below are other roles you can assign when uploading through P Tune Studio:
Engineer
Handles the technical side of recording — setting up microphones, managing equipment, recording vocals/instruments, and ensuring high-quality sound capture.
Performer
An artist who contributes musically — either in a recording or a live performance setting.
Vocal Producer
Oversees the vocal recording session, coaches the artist, and helps craft the vocal arrangement that supports the track.
